Portico Systems has a new home in Blue Bell, just outside of Philadelphia.
I am the CTO and co-founder of Portico, have worked out of this location for many years, and am a technology packrat. I just can't bear to throw away the old geek toys. So let's just say things were a little cluttered.
I time-lapsed the seven hours it took to purge and pack up my office. Look for the following in the video:
- Lava Lamp
- Atari 520 ST (including monitor)
- Sinclair ZX81 (including 16K RAM pack - sweet!)
- Sun Workstation
- Intel 486 DX2 Motherboard (first one I ever ran Linux on)
- Map of the Internet (2001)
- Java 5 Classlibrary poster
- CrackBerry
- iPod
- iMac
- Sony PC100 (MiniDV video camera)
- 2 Dell Windoze Laptops
- 2 Linux desktops (Kubuntu!)
- 2 Flat Panel monitors, 3 wireless keyboards and mice, subwoofer, speakers, 2 UPS
- VMWare stickers
- Linux Journals dating back to 1996
- Linus Torvolds autograph (don't sweat this one, only I know where it is!)
- Bandito Blow Dart Gun
- First Edition Dungeons & Dragons manuals
- Redhat Linux distros
- Apple OS X Boxes
- LaCie external HD
- Urine test cup
- Fake dog poop, and a remote controlled fart machine
- Iomega Jaz Drives (1 Gig and 2 Gig) & Cartridges
- Sharp Zaurus SL550 Linux Handheld (awesome!)
- Various Palm Pilots back to the Palm I and accessories (foldable keyboard, etc...)
- Caps:
- Redhat
- Air ERWin
- American by Birth, Southern by the Grace of God
- Homemade from paper
- Jerry Garcia statue
- Lots and Lots of O'Reilly books
- GNU Emacs cheat sheet
- Captains of Crush Grippers Number 1 and 2
- A picture of a woman, a Palm Pilot, and a toilet
- My coworkers trapping me with a mountain of trash piled against the door
